It is entirely possible I just had a panic attack and squealed in the middle of work because I was listening to the Silent Hill movie soundtrack for the first time and didn't realise that the movie soundtrack's version of Letter cuts off with white noise for the car crash scene. I nearly fell out of my chair XD.

(In my defense, I'm on lunch so I wasn't doing it on a call - and I'm operating on three hours of sleep so I'm a little jumpier than usual.)

ETA: Also, something not mentioned enough in horror stories etc - being scared HURTS. Seriously! I don't know if other people get this but my skin stings all over like I've just run through a field of nettles whenever something makes me REALLY jump.

I have all the game soundtracks but I know the cues from the game well enough I don't get caught by surprise - the Silent Hill 2 soundtrack is a favourite for helping me get to sleep, actually - but the movie caught me off-guard by familiar songs suddenly twisting off into something else and making me go ASDFASDFASD AAAAAAAARGH in the middle of work. Whoops!

Ha! That sounds like something I would do. Makes me think of this one time years ago when I had put on one of the Silent Hill soundtracks to fall asleep to. It would wait until I had started to doze off, then WHAM SUDDEN NOISE. And I would be wide awake again and terrified. XD

Weirdly, Silent Hill 2 I can fall asleep to. Silent Hill 1 I can't; never tried with Silent Hill 3 or 4 and I know now that the movie I couldn't XD.

I LOVE THAT SIREN. Ever read the story Phantoms by Dean Koontz? It gets very silly towards the end, but earlier parts of it are veeeeeery Silent Hill ^^.
