Batteries and shoes

Thinking about recent conversations I've had is a firm reminder that my poor mum has to put up with so much from me:
Mum: *pointing out about skirts flying up in the wind*
Me: "Ooh, I had that with my red skirt, but it was okay, because I had batteries."
Mum: "... what?"
Me: "Well, my skirt was going all over the place, and I had plasters and batteries in my bag, so I used the plasters to stick the batteries to the inside of my skirt to weigh it down and -"
Mum: *dying*
And earlier:
Me 'n' mum: *walking down the street, discussing my recent posting session; several letters, Britta's present, a package of coffee, and a shoebox full of pocky*
Me: "So the letters cost about 72p each, and that package cost way less than I thought it had, I thought I'd be paying about £20."
Mum: "And how much did the shoebox cost?"
Me: "... it came free with the shoes?"
Mum: *long pause of 'you did not just say that did you?'* *dying, again*

"Real nice effort, deutschebag!"
