emeraldembersA round-up of this week's events, before I go back to work tomorrow and start replying to comments as a) I won't have anything else to do between calls and b) my God, I will not be moving from my seat once I've sat down. Most of the other symptoms have eased up but walking for more than ten minutes at a time still means PANT PANT WHEEZE HELP ME:
* Discovered Stargate: Atlantis, which omg, I am addicted to. Four seasons in, now, and I'm smitten. And I'm hooked on wraith fic, more than any of the other characters because there is NO GOOD JOHN/RONON ANYWHERE (that I've found). John/Rodney fic is cute, but they're very... they're like an old married couple. I feel kind of guilty reading about them doing anything naughty.
* People kept dying; two funerals (one distant family, one a family friend), both with moments of cruel hilarity, neither attended by me because the last thing I wanted was to accidentally cause another one.
- Funeral number one: Aunty Margaret (aged 92 and enjoying the freedom of speech) pointing at one of my cousins and going "Ee, what have you done with your hair then?", the answer being, of course, chemotherapy.
- Funeral number two: Dad's mate Tony introducing my mum to everyone as the love of his life - "Big, blonde and busty, what more could you want?". The funeral? Was for his wife.
* Nearly finishedandremeese's Christmas/New Year's/Probably Valentine's Day and all present!
* Wrote all but two letters promised to people that shall be sent off forthwith as soon as I've got the last two and my Meese's present sorted. So, chances are, next week if I keep things up :O!
* Made more steps toward my ambition of owning a bed completely covered in cushions.
* COULD NOT FIND A STARGATE OR STARGATE: ATLANTIS KINK MEME ANYWHERE. Wtf? Even South Park (ew) has a kink meme! :(

and of course John/Rodney is like an old married couple, that's what makes them fun. even in canon they're like an old married
they even have to give rodney a love interest in season 5 that just feels awkward

Date: 2009-02-02 11:40 pm (UTC)John/Rodney I think I love their canon relationship more than I'd love anything fandom-made, although I do adore how *GOOD* the fanart for Stargate is in some places! :O. That, and the number of people who've moved between it and Supernatural, fandom-wise.
Omg, if you found a kink meme, I'd just die of squee. Didn't know they had a flashfic community though :D, I'll have to head on over and start spamming it with wraith porn. Because, well, yeah. I do love my xenophilia.
And besides, it seems to be a *lot* easier to find good wraith fic than good John/Ronon fic, which is maddening, because my goodness I'd kill for good John/Ronon, or John/Ronon/Teyla.
I don't know wtf is going on with the fact Stargate: Atlantis has GOOD FEMALE CHARACTERS. It's bizarre o_0. Good female characters are rare enough as is, but the fact Stargate has good female characters PLURAL is just... odd. Supernatural could learn from it. A LOT.

I kind of feel like I should watch it for solidarity's sake, but I've heard nothing but bad things about it. That said, it's mostly been from slasher fans, so I'm going to do the sensible thing and ask my hetero mate at work about it tomorrow; if he hates it too, then I can rule it out altogether.
Problem is, though, I do know that Todd the Wraith turns up in it more... and I'm, well, kind of smitten with him :X.

BTW, on the plus side for you, I'm now 2987342637349827 times more obsessed with Stargate: Atlantis than I am with Twilight. I'm in a respectable fandom again! :D, even if it does seem to be very... insular.
My mum's been plying me with pea soup and chicken soup all week, heehee :D. I think most of my digestive system is liquid now. It's helping ;).
