I class zombies as non-squicky (er... well, in terms of consent anyway) necrophilia on account of the loss of heartbeat AND brain function; vampires (generally) retain brain function so they count as far as I'm concerned.

But I think I'm gonna - oh god, this isn't a "I might" anymore, is it? It's an "I will"? - I think I'm gonna have to make use of Castiel's built-in healing ability to make this even more messed up and OH GOD WHAT HAS THAT PROMPTER WROUGHT, WHAT HAS MY BRAIN WROUGHT, WHAT HAVE WE IN GENERAL WROUGHT

I tend to rate necrophilia according to its consent-squick levels. The following chart is a rough idea of how my brain divides everything up:

If it has no pulse and brain function and a soul; need consent (e.g. non-Buffy vampires, Angel and Spike aside).
If it has no pulse and no brain function and a soul; need consent even though you're unlikely to get it (e.g. if there's a corpse, but it's haunted by its ghost).
If it has no pulse and brain function and no soul; bone away (e.g. ZOMBIES)!
If it has no pulse and no brain function and no soul; bone away with panache (e.g. er, non-haunted corpses)!

That's a rough summary XD.

All of the bottom four are arguably necrophilia but I find it goes from "You would win that argument" at the bottom to "You're being picky" at the top. ^^

Wow. I just divide into species-necrophilia (Vampires, Zombies), possession-necrophilia (demons, aliens and ghosts) and good ole fashioned corpse-boning. 'Cause when you get into the technicalities of consent: Vampires can consent, Zombies = apply bestiality rules, possessed corpses aren't consenting but the sentient being can so it's half-rape, and a corpse is just a corpse.

The question is where does clinical brain death lie on this scale and... How would a Dean/Sam/Dean In My Time of Dying romp work?

I class zombies as 'walking dead' rather than 'living dead' which makes them dead-dead to me XD, hence still necrophilia.
