emeraldembers1) Who wants some crack porn? Because voyeur!Crowley/exhibitionist!Sam is pretty much as cracky as it gets (thx spacefragments for the epic prompt, and also for the MENACING BANANA which is still one of the best things I have ever seen with these eyes of mine.
2) Final reminder on help_chile given the auctions end tomorrow, or, well, technically later today now (March 10th4pm midnight GMT); all English fic offerings; my fic thread; my podfic thread.
3) OREO CUPCAKES OMG YES. Okay, I cheated and cobbled together about three different recipes after one of you guys mentioned these a while back because I like to take the laziest, easiest route, but here's how I made mine (AND THEY WERE AWESOME, I know this because it's a rule that my sister's birthday is a mid-Lenten break because otherwise she wouldn't get birthday cake AND THAT WOULD BE WRONG so I got to taste them):
* Take one pack of Oreo cookies and twist every cookie in half; put an intact half in the bottom of each paper cupcake... thing and set the other aside. IT'S 1.45 AM THESE WORDS ESCAPE ME. One pack = about fourteen if I recall correctly, which isn't as likely as I wish it was.
* Make up one pack of double chocolate chunk muffin mix (I got mine from Tescos for under £1, I love supermarkets) and divide equally amongst the cupcake things, covering the oreo cookie bases.
* Bake for about 10 to 12 minutes (significantly less time than a muffin would require as you're making smaller cakes - just judge by poking the top of a cupcake. If it's springy, you're good), take out of the oven, leave to cool.
* Whip together 1/2 a pint of double cream, two tablespoons milk, two tablespoons icing sugar, 1/2 teaspoon vanilla essence. Then smash up the leftover cookie halves into fine crumbs (don't bother scraping off any chocolate/whatever the other flavour is cream from the Oreo, it's aaaaaall good) and fold into the cream.
* Pipe or spread the cream thickly on top of each cooled cupcake (make sure they're cool all the way through to the middle or your topping's going to melt and slide off).
VOILA. DELICIOUS OREO CUPCAKE. Nngk.
Oh, yes, and one last thing!
4) Dear everyone on my flist who's ever mentioned Dragon's Age: Origins - THANK YOU. I just bought the game on a whim and I'm SO IN LOVE, even with Alistair who I'd set out thinking NO I WILL NOT FALL FOR YOU LIKE EVERYONE ELSE DOES and then he was such a dork and I was all ASDJLASDJFLA I LOVE YOU I CAN'T HELP IT so I'm glad I rolled a girl this time as hopefully at some point I can persuade him to make with the whoopie. HE IS SO CUTE. I WANT ONE. When he woobies I want to hold him but I want to hug him even more when he's being all silly and and damnit, aww. I EVEN HEAL HIM BEFORE I HEAL THE OTHER CHARACTERS. I DON'T DO THAT. EVER. EVEN IN WORLD OF WARCRAFT WHEN I HAVE PERSONAL ATTACHMENTS TO PEOPLE IN THE GAME. Congratulations Bioware, you made a role playing game where I'm actually role playing.
Also, my female human mage character has stomach muscles and a butt as well as enormous knockers, which is rather awesome. She looks like she could actually fight, I'm shocked and surprised.

But no, I am actually liking the fact I'm comfortable size 20 instead of comfortably size 22 at the moment. The ideal would be getting down to size 18 (or even 16, omg) but I don't see that happening anytime soon. Besides, I'm quite happy with my bigness these days. I'm good for cuddling and as long as there's no romance looming in my life, cuddling > presently unnecessary sexiness!

I did the whole romance with him once, spent the entire time going "awww" and am now doing it again, this time with a female dwarf. Even though I never usually play dwarves, but she is actually rather awesome.
Personal attachments...Yes. Know exactly what you mean. I'm bad anyway for getting attached to characters, this game? I'm even worse. Thanks Bioware.

Date: 2010-03-10 03:19 am (UTC)I think my next playthrough I'll probably go for male dwarf warrior and try and nab the gay elf if possible, because roleplaying as AU versions of Gimli and Legolas would be hilarious and awesome.
I'm normally pretty good at being attached to characters without getting emotionally involved but man, Alistair totally suckered me in - it's like when I was playing Persona 3 and I thought Junpei was rather sweet, then he was a complete dick to me for a while and I was all "Well, that's nice", and then out of the blue he apologised and I was all OH MY GOD I LOVE YOU. YOU ARE THE BEST THING EVER.

Date: 2010-03-10 03:44 am (UTC)I went for Zevran on my first playthrough with a Dalish elf (who did not last long and ended up being remade to be properly role-played), then my next one with my City Elf male, who pretty much became my "main" character. But once I got with him once, I...couldn't resist, even with Alistair being sweet and lovely to my elf mage.
I am not. I am terrible for getting attached, doesn't help either the ones I do get attached to normally die or something. Human Noble origin, for example, I decided I quite like everyone in the castle, game goes "yeah we're going to kill them now". Ditto with Bioshock's Atlas, despite knowing fine what happens in the game, he had had me at "would you kindly".

If you try to get him to jump in the sack too quick, he'll refuse and cite that he wants the first time to be special and meaningful and D'AWWWW. (You can eventually get him in the sack, though. Actually, you can get a bunch of your party members in the sack, but usually not altogether, though there is ONE notable exception).

I used to watch my boyfriend play the game, then decided to play it myself and I do so love my human mage who says adorable things like "bother" lol
The other cute rogue girl IS cute (and the 'bi' girl like the male elf is 'bi') but sometimes she seems really... weird. I don't know though I think I like her. ^^
I really need to play this game for myself more and maybe get OUT of the first real area of the game and continue on with the bloody story. lol
I'm glad you love Junpei too. Out of the entire cast of Persona 3, Junpei really STUCK with me. He's just so REAL you know? Sometimes in Persona 3 I feel like the characters act far too 'grown up' and detached from their surroundings. But Junpei was really real to me, which really shocked me that I usually HATE his voice actor. But guh, Junpei~
I really do love Persona 3 and it's characters, but I think I enjoy the group of Persona 4 as a whole, a lot more. They ACT like teenagers and silly and like FRIENDS. Where as Persona 3 they act like a group of people who are together and a team, on a mission. To me. Souji in Persona 4 is a lot more amusing to me than Minato of Persona 3. lol

Date: 2010-03-10 03:11 pm (UTC)I have to agree I like the group dynamics better in Persona 4 as a whole - but honestly, I find Persona 3 a better game, probably 65% because of Junpei! Swap Yosuke for Junpei and Persona 4 I would have adored. I spent most of my game time in Persona 4 just wanting to punch Yosuke in the face to the point where I've still not finished it, shamefully enough!
Dragon's Age is my current obsession, and I'm thinking when I'm through with it, Mass Effect and Mass Effect 2 beckons!
