Hi everyone new who I've friended; I've basically been on an "Omg everyone on blindfold/sassy_otp is awesome" friending binge because tbh, I've tried Tumblr, I've started crossposting to dreamwidth, and I know LJ is slow as balls lately, but it's still where my heart truly lies.

Oh, my gosh, yes! You should totally expand on that one. I too love Bal/Cas like the day is long. It's such an unsung pairing. There should be so much more of it.

And Yes was a pet project for me the moment I saw the prompt - I have a mild form of autism and I get so, so angry when I see people get it wrong in fic that I had to write it myself XD.

I've never read an autism story before this one, simply because I never really trusted anyone to get it right. There are so many different levels. Most people seem to see autistic people as grown children, but that is not always the case. I'm glad that you decided to take up that prompt. You really did it justice.

Re: Lost Souls. I totally agree with you about it becoming less and less enjoyable with each read. I loved it the first time, but I've grown up a lot since then. I will never, ever stop loving the relationship between Steve and Ghost though. It's worth re-reading just for them. :)

Balthazar/Castiel reminds me of my videogame OTP of OTPs, Janos Audron/Vorador.

1) Ancient beings who spent most of it together? Check.
2) One reluctantly gives weapons of immense power to the other? Check.
3) One displays arrogance and amusement to every single person except their ancient pal about whom they will hear no wrong? Check.
4) Die tragically in part due to different beliefs? Check.
5) One super-faithful and relatively introverted and one super-faithless and a hedonistic extrovert? Check.

So basically I was doomed. XD

I think people over-simplify saying autistic people are like children - something that still simplifies without getting it quite so wrong would be to say that they're like regular people with the *emotional* reasoning of a child. With my mild form I'm mostly functional but I do still have sobbing fits or angry fits in response to certain triggers - I find the easiest way to describe it to people is "Think of how you feel when you hear nails on a chalkboard. Multiply it by ten." ^^

With Lost Souls I came to it after the shine had worn off Anne Rice, so it was nice to see someone go YES THERE IS ACTUAL SEX IN THIS ONE AND NOT JUST HIDING FROM ANY POSSIBILITY OF SEX DESPITE TALKING ABOUT IT ALL THE TIME, but it's definitely less my thing as I'm older. Ghost and Steve are lovely together and Ghost is just one of my favourite characters going in general.

Just got one last Balthazar/Castiel repost due (how appropriate!) and I'm finished, but reformatting it's a swine given the original post was about 40% italics ;).
